Perceptions on Climate Change in South Eleuthera and the wider Bahamas
This study gets preliminary results of how Bahamian residents perceive climate change and
its effects on the nation based on different surveying methods. Most respondents were from
Eleuthera, a more rural island relative to the capital island, Nassau, in The Bahamas. Results
indicate that participants have some familiarity with climate change terminology, the impacts
of climate on the environment and economics. There is also some general understanding of
the role of climate change. More research and data collection would improve this study.
